The current NH Collection Hotel in Piazza Carlina is where Antonio Gramsci lived during his stay in Torino and has served many purposes over time. The project, designed jointly by architects De Giuli, Dutto, Fusari, and Pistis, creates a dialogue between the baroque character of the building and the city’s modern transformations. Inside, the Carlina houses both a restaurant and a bar. The main dining room, elegant and minimalist, is defined by a large wine barrel serving as a backdrop, the warm tones of the furnishings, and the artworks by Carol Rama, Merz, and Galliano that enrich the space.

The materials used for the interior finishes recall early 20th-century residential construction: black and white cement tiles inlaid with local marble, Luserna stone, and oak wood. The lime-based plasters are, in some cases, left unfinished, with the typical hazelnut hue and visible grain of the trowel marks. The halls of the bar—whose counter was sculpted by Santo Cinalli—and the restaurant wind between the small outdoor space overlooking one of Torino’s most beautiful squares and the lemon courtyard, passing through the inner portico."

I adjusted sentence structure, refined descriptions, and improved the overall flow for better readability.
