The Gallerie d’Italia in Torino in the historic Palazzo Turinetti in Piazza San Carlo is Intesa Sanpaolo’s fourth exhibition venue, joining those in Milano, Napoli and Vicenza.

The new museum was conceived as a meeting place between the past and the future and opens up to people with a large agora and an imposing staircase that will also become a place for socialising and will lead visitors to the underground exhibition spaces.

The "Gallerie d’Italia - Torino" are home to the Intesa Sanpaolo Publifoto Archive - with around 7 million shots taken from the 1930s to the 1990s by one of Italy’s leading photojournalism agencies - and display a selection of works from the Group’s collections. Going up to the ground floor, the public will also find an open-air cloister bounded by Piazza San Carlo, Via XX Settembre and Via Santa Teresa, where a new bookshop, café and restaurant will also open.

Culture

The Gallerie d'Italia in Turin, which opened in 2022, is the fourth museum venue of the Intesa Sanpaolo group. Located in the majestic Palazzo Turinetti in Piazza San Carlo, renovated by Michele De Lucchi's AMDL Circle studio, the Gallerie focus on contemporary photographic and visual art. The exhibition spaces, covering approximately 10,000 square metres, host temporary exhibitions and a permanent collection related to photography, with a focus on social, cultural, and environmental issues. A significant section of the museum is dedicated to the Publifoto Archives, which document the history of Italy through images from the 20th century
