Hall of residence and hotel combining design and view of the city
Design
Like the student residence in Corso Marconi, CX Turin Vanchiglia is both a student campus and an unconventional hotel. Located in the former headquarters of a publishing house, the campus offers a stunning view that stretches from the Mole Antonelliana to the Basilica of Superga.
The restoration of the space was overseen by Studio De Ferraris Architettura, while Rizoma designed the interiors and furnishings of the eight-storey building, where rooms alternate with common areas that engage in dialogue with the cityscape outside. The cafeteria, gym, communal kitchen, rooftop terrace, and study room feature custom-designed furnishings along with iconic pieces of Italian design. The colour scheme is not limited to the furnishings but is also expressed through the colours and architectural finishes, creating a continuous interplay between pop and soft hues, hard and soft materials, and natural textures and glossy mirrored surfaces
